I'm Cal — I left Ireland with nothing and landed a FIFO job in 28 days!
Hey, I'm Cal McIlwaine. In May 2023, I left Ireland on a working holiday visa chasing opportunity in Australia. I had zero mining experience. My background? Running nightclub events back home — not exactly FIFO material.
But 28 days after I landed in Australia, I had a FIFO job offer.
Not because I got lucky. Not because I had connections. But because I followed a clear, step-by-step process.
The problem? I had to figure it all out the hard way. YouTube. Social media. Facebook groups. Contradictory advice. Wasted money on certifications I didn't need. Applied to companies that were never hiring. Months of guesswork.
That's why I created this blueprint.
Since then, I've spent nearly three years helping people from Ireland, the UK, Europe, New Zealand, Canada, and the US make this same move. I've seen what works. I've seen what doesn't. I've helped hundreds of people break into FIFO — and they've done it faster than I did.
Here's what I know for sure: If I can land a FIFO job with zero experience, so can you. You just need the right blueprint.
